About Parker's Promise
Is Parker's Promise an assisted living facility?
No. Parker's Promise is an independent living housing program. We are not an assisted living facility, nursing home, adult family-care home, treatment program or shelter.
Do you provide medical or personal care?
No. We don't provide medical, nursing or personal care, medication help, counseling or treatment, and our staff are not medical professionals. Residents manage their own care or arrange it from outside providers they choose.
Can residents receive home health services?
Yes. Residents may arrange services from independent outside providers they choose, such as a home health aide, following our house rules for visitors. Parker's Promise doesn't arrange, supervise or pay for those services.
Do you provide emergency shelter?
No. If you need a safe place tonight, call 211, or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. Our Get Help page lists more free help lines.
Who can live here
Do you accept veterans?
Yes. Our Veterans Residence is for U.S. military veterans. A DD-214 helps, but you can apply without one. See Eligibility.
Do you accept couples?
It depends on the residence and the rooms open at the time, so please contact us about your situation. The Women's Residence is a women-only home.
Are pets allowed?
No pets are allowed. Service animals and assistance animals are not pets: if you have a disability, you can ask for an assistance animal as a reasonable accommodation, and we review every request individually.
Rooms, rent and what's included
Are rooms private or shared?
Both may be available. Contact us for current rates and availability.
How much is rent?
Contact us for current rates. Rent includes a furnished room, utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry and shared kitchen and living areas.
Is there an application fee?
No. There's no fee to apply.
Can VA benefits or rental assistance pay the rent?
Rent can be paid from any lawful source of income, including wages, Social Security, SSI/SSDI, VA benefits, pensions, and approved rental assistance or funding programs. Each assistance program has its own rules and approval steps, which the program decides, so tell us early what you plan to use. Parker's Promise doesn't apply for or manage benefits for residents, but we can refer you to free help.
Are meals included?
No. Meals aren't provided. Residents buy and cook their own food and share the kitchen under the house rules.
Is transportation included?
No. Transportation isn't included in rent, and residents are responsible for getting around. Staff can help you find options, such as bus routes, STS paratransit for people with disabilities, and VA or Medicaid ride programs if you qualify.
